Outside “the big 3” – Gartner, Forrester and IDC – Berg Insight is an analyst firm I always look to for factual, numbers driven market data and insights. Last week they released the 3rd edition of their IoT Platforms and Software Market Report.

Some highlights for each segment:

Device Management and AEPs (IOT Platforms)

These platforms are experiencing a 34% CAGR and a new wave of Investment from major Cloud & Enterprise Player. 10 of the 18 IOT Platforms covered in the GARTNER IOT Platforms Magic Quadrant (https://davra.com/2018/06/08/gartner-industrial-iot-magic-quadrant-review/) are profiled in this report. Indicating early acceptance of key players.

Connectivity Management Platforms

This area contains limited Players.  Jasper, Aeris, and Kore are leading the space along with Vodafone proprietary platform.

Chipset, module & Device Vendors

These platform vendors are trying to move up the stack – Arm, Sierra Wireless, Telit, and Gemalto are the leading players.
