Introduction about yourself

Hi All, my name is Darragh and I am a 24 year old graduate from Maynooth University. Having originally set out to have a career in law, half way during my studies I decided it wasn’t for me and so have entered the big bad world of business and in particular IoT. With nothing but a dream in my heart, a skip in my step, and some disingenuous accusations of nepotism, I found myself working in Davra!

What made you choose Davra?

Well it definitely wasn’t for the money or the power! No I kid, Davra provided me with an incredible opportunity to combine my interest in all things cyber and tech with my education background, and since I joined I have been able to stretch my legs as part of Davra’s Cyber Security and Compliance Team. It can be difficult for graduates in Ireland to find employment after college, and I am very thankful for all at Davra taking a chance with me and allowing me to prove myself. Plus, with the increasing importance of Cyber Security, who knows, maybe I will be able to repay the favor in the future to the company that gave me my start? 

What you want to achieve at Davra?

There’s so much I want to do within Davra, not least of all to gain experience in a Security and Compliance role. I’m constantly learning new tools and techniques within my role, and it’s never a dull day!  These new experiences and invaluable skills will stick with  me going forward. One particular skill I would like to improve on is Networking, with Davra’s wide partner base and partner orientated focus this won’t be too difficult.

What are your hobbies or interests?

I’m an avid cinephile and I love the movies, so as you can imagine going cold turkey with cinemas for the past year has been difficult! Aside from that I love to read and have a keen interest in Greek mythology (I cannot recommend Stephen Fry’s ‘Mythos’ series enough) I also love to surf during the summer, ski during the winter and longboard all year round!
