That’s right, the end of Google Cloud IoT core is near. The 16th of August 2023 is the official date for the shutdown of IoT Core. A spokesperson from Google said “Since launching IoT Core, it has become clear that our customers’ needs could be better served by our network of partners that specialize in IoT applications and services,”. In a move that the company hopes will provide its customers with a better experience, Google is passing the opportunity to third-party companies.

The closure of IoT Core is an interesting decision, with massive annual growth in the Internet of things in recent years which is predicted to continue to grow for years to come.
